1. What new skills did you learn as part of this unit?
This unit I learned a lot of new things about a lot of new ways to make art. Using water color is hard because getting the same color twice is very very hard. It also takes many layers to get a color dark. In the clay unit I learned the important of texture and how different levels of layers really make an impact. In the drawing unit I spent a lot of time on lines, I learned about how the perspective really effects the drawing. Finally, the print making really made me think about what I could use to get a certain texture in my final work.
2. What project from Unit 3 did you find to be the most successful? Why?
I really like the way my clay slab turned out because not only did it turn out the way I wanted it to, but it was really fun to make. I'm glad I cut the stars into the slab and had the planet and meteors come up out of the slab, the layers make it look somewhat realistic. I also liked the way my drawing turned out because that too looks very realistic.
3. What media are you interested in using again and why?
I would really like to use the clay again. I like how it is really hands on and there is so many things you can do with it. I would like to try making something other than a slab, like a 3D sculpture. Painting would also be really fun to do again just because it makes pretty colors and I really enjoy it.
